Chitika Hits 1B Mobile Ads Per Month on Strength of Guided Search Ads
(Westborough, Mass.) June 19, 2013 --- The Chitika Ad Network now sees more than one billion mobile ad impressions each month. Since the launch of their Mobile Solution in 2010, Chitika has been a pioneer in text-based guided search ads for mobile, delivering intent-driven mobile ads across the network of 300,000 publishers. Chitika’s Guided Search℠ mobile ad technology provides users with an enhanced mobile search experience, offers advertisers the opportunity to acquire high quality intent-driven mobile search traffic, and gives publishers a way to tap into a multi-billion dollar search ad marketplace.
Chitika’s Guided Search for the mobile user was also the foundation for a new agreement Chitika recently announcedwith Yahoo! to deliver monetization solutions for their mobile search marketplace. Chitika’s mobile technology and expansive reach across the Internet has also attracted new partners, including Mocean Mobile. “We are always looking for demand partners who will provide new revenue sources for our publishers, said Tim Cronin, SVP Global Sales, Mocean Mobile. “Adding Chitika as a demand provider seemed like a natural fit given their ability to leverage their Guided Search technology to drive incremental revenue for our partners.”
Mocean Mobile, a leading ad serving and management platform, provides Chitika with additional supply inventory including Microsoft Advertising, which currently uses the Mocean Mobile platform to serve mobile display ads across its global network of mobile apps and websites.
"Drawing on the new mobile partnership with Yahoo! and our unique ability to blend the art and science behind our ads, Chitika is able to bring an unprecedented source of advertisers to the mobile ad ecosystem that has not been seen since Google acquired AdMob." said Matt Kojalo, GM of Chitika’s Mobile Ad Platform. Chitika’s new mobile partnerships with Yahoo!, Mocean Mobile and others will be a catalyst in the continued growth of the Chitika mobile ad network in 2013 and beyond.

In one of the most highly anticipated earnings calls of 2013, Apple SVP and CFO Peter Oppenheimer cited Chitika Insights data, using stats from our most recent Tablet Market Share Study.
Oppenheimer stated, "And in the enterprise, iOS devices have a strong lead over Android. In its most recently published quarterly enterprise device activations report, good technologies found that iOS devices accounted for 77% of all activations by its corporate customers. And thanks to careful App Store curation for the quality of apps, the iOS platform offers a much more secure environment...But perhaps the most important measure of the success of our ecosystem is how engaged our customers are with our products and services. In its most recently published update, Chitika found that iPad accounted for 82% of all North American tablet-led traffic in March."
This further highlights the importance of data looking at web usage in addition to sales and shipment figures when determining success of a device on the market. Click here to join the Chitika Pulse for bi-weekly updates from our data team!

Register and make money now
you signed up for an ad network and are ready to start making more money online. We have put a list of the top 10 best practices or tips for earning much more money from your website.

1. Scan your website and test to make sure your links are all working and directing to the desired destination, and that all images load properly! To be safe, remove any images that take too long to load.

2. Remove all adult content. Advertisers may blacklist you if they detect any adult content on your site.

3. Try not to use poor grammar or offensive language. Excessive poor grammar or offensive language can be a red flag to certain advertisers, so our advice is: don’t do it!

4. Avoid using the default template for your site’s design. We know you want to get your site up and running as fast as possible, but take the time to choose a different layout than the default. It’s worth it!

5. Be consistent with your content inconsistent content or not enough content is a red flag. Many ad networks won’t approve you in the first place if you don’t have enough content on your site, but advertisers can stop serving you quality ads if that is the case! You should also take care to be posting content regularly waiting long periods of time before adding new content can decrease the quality of ads you’re served.

6. If you can, avoid hosting content unrelated to your domain name. Advertisers can best serve targeted, high quality ads when your site theme is clear.

7. Ad Management. Disable any full page pop-ups. Low quality ad types are a big red flag for high quality ad networks.

8. While you’re at it, also make sure you remove distracting pop-ups that may block your site content. Top-tier advertisers do not want to be associated with ads that negatively impact user experience.

9. Along with adult content remove any adult ads as well.

10. Do not have too much ad content above the fold. Many publishers use the space above the fold to cram advertisements in due to the high CTR that area is known for. However, if you have mostly ad content above the fold without any organic content, you could get yourself in trouble with advertisers.

CONCLUSION : As a publisher, following these tips does not just ensure that you will receive the best paying ads from advertisers, but also keeps you on good terms with the ad networks you run on your site! Be sure to keep these tips in mind as you maintain your site in the long run one accidental slip up could cause you to be thrown on an advertiser’s blacklist, and it can be very hard to be removed from such a list.
